Samsung Galaxy Tab coming to Canada
Over the past week or so, Samsung’s entry into the tablet market, the Galaxy Tab, has been generating a fair amount of buzz. The fact that it’s a tablet is enough to get it some press. When you combine that with the positive response to the Samsung Galaxy smartphone lineup, and it’s no surprise that the tablet is getting people interested.
Though the 7 inch tablet, running Google’s Android OS (with Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay) is already slated to hit Europe on October 11th, as well as the US, a tweet from the official SamsungMobileCA mentions that it will arrive Canada before the end of the year. There’s no official word on pricing, though leaked European numbers suggest it will be in line with Apple’s iPad. This is somewhat disappointing, since the screen is a fair bit smaller, though sporting a similar resolution.
It is also not clear yet if the Tab will be sold carrier free for full price by Samsung, like the iPad is, or subsidized and locked by one, or all, of the Big 3.

I love those pics of the Tab in the bike basket as a GPS – who in their right mind would put a $600-800 tablet unsecured in a basket so it can fly out as soon as you go over a bump!
